WE MIGHT BE LATE FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS

  • security checkpoints back up traffic
  • parts of the city are gridlocked
  • customers have considerably more than originally listed
  • ConEd is causing another traffic jam because they're digging up a street at the most inopportune time
  • customer may have locked themselves out of apt and delayed the move
  • 5 different moving companies may be using the same service elevator
  • supt may be arguing with the movers because he doesn't want them to use the elevator and wants them to carry the items up 4 flights instead
  • doormen don't have the new tenant scheduled to move in and must spend 40 minutes getting authorization
  • customer didn't reserve and pay for storage facility and 20 minutes are wasted getting a storage room
  • street fairs may have caused serious traffic jams
  • customers micromanage moves and direct our every step as if this is the first time we ever performed a move
  • supt lets any passenger in the lobby use elevator first and we have to wait to load it when no one needs to use it
  • we arrive to our move and the customer is only half packed
  • customer didn't inform us that there was a flight of stairs to get to the basement to access the service elevator or that we have to follow a 400 foot maze to get to it--and the list goes on.
